EBOLA AFFECTED COMMUNITIES TO RECEIVE EMERGENCY FOOD RELIEF
State minister for Information, Communication, Technology and National Guidance has appealed to the leaders in Mubende to embrace unity and team work for proper service delivery.
State minister for Information, Communication, Technology and National Guidance Hon Geofrey Kabyanga expressed this during the launch for the distribution of the Emergency Food Relief which was provided by the Office of the Prime Minister meant to be given out to the persons affected by the Ebola virus disease at mayor’s gardens in Mubende district.
While handing over the food relief to the District Task Force chaired by the Resident District Commissioner Hon Geofrey Kabyanga noted that leaders in Mubende district should work as a team to see to it that all the categories of people identified by the Office of the Prime Minister receive the food as allocated.
Hon Kabyanga further added that “residents in this area should take Ebola virus serious by seeking for treatment from government health facilities in case they get any symptoms and also follow the standard operating procedures as guided by the Ministry of Health.”
The Resident District Commissioner Mubende district Mrs. Byabasaija Rose Mary stressed that Mubende district has received a total of 750 tons of Maize flour and 375 tons of Beans.
This relief has been distributed as follows ,Mubende municipality 400 tons of Maize flour and 200 tons of Beans, Buwekula county received 150 tons of Maize flour and 75 tons of Beans , Buwekula south 100 tons of Maize flour and 50 tons of Beans, Kasambya county 100 tons of Maize flour and 50 tons of Beans.
Categories of people to receive the emergency food relief include taxis driver, conductors, boda boda riders, daily road side market vendors, gym and bar attendants as well as house holds affected by Ebola virus disease.
Hon Ntambi Micheal Muhereza lcv chairman mubende district has applauded the government for providing the residents in mubende district with the food relief support because since a lock down was slapped on the ebola affected areas leaving many people with out enough food for their families.
In attendance was the vice chairman Hon Besigye Kellen , deputy RDC Mr.Birungi Abubaker, Sub county chiefs, lc iii chairpersons, Gombolola internal security officers.
